Summer Learning Journey Wk 1 Day 1 Activity 2 - North and South

Activity 2 - North and South (4 points)

The country of New Zealand is made up of two main islands - the north and the South Island. Approximately 77% of the New Zealand population live in the North Island. Many of these people (including our Summer Learning journey design team) live in Auckland City. Auckland is a great place to live with lots of amazing parks, beautiful waterways and stunning scenery to enjoy. It is also a busy vibrant city with many cafes, museums, galleries and theatres to visit. I feel lucky to call Auckland my 'hometown'.

Now it is time to think about your hometown. What is special about where you live? On your blog, describe your hometown. Be sure to include lots of describing words (adjectives) in your post.

Auckland...

I have lived in Auckland my whole life. Whats so special about it? Well, I am proud to say that the most special thing about where I live, is the people and the beautiful scenery's which are all around Auckland city. No city is more supportive and active as Auckland is. I know it may seem like i'm bragging, but its true. Auckland is place where you are able to interact with different people also with the chance of seeing beautiful views along the way. *sky tower*

Words to describe Auckland:

Bubbly
Energetic
Alive
Supportive
Many more

I am very proud to call Auckland City my home.

I agree with you as I also love here in Auckland. I really liked how you mentioned the people and the scenery and, how you used a rhetorical question to make you writing more interesting. Also, it's nice that you made a list of describing words but for next time I want you to use those in your text in context not as list.

Furthermore, it's great to see you using images to illustrate your blog posts. Every time that we use an image on our blog, it's really important that we tell our readers where we found it, and give credit to the owner of the picture. To properly credit a picture you will need to include a link to the site where you found the image. We have created a guide that you might find helpful. You can check it out here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1VKjkMGwBrk2YI6Vtmg91OAQljr_T3ZSV6YZtu6MWFNM/edit
You will need to follow these instructions to earn full points for any Summer Learning Journey activity that has asked you to post an image.

You did a great job here!
    Kia kaha,
    Patricia
