Day #7 Keep New Zealand Beautiful

Dawn breaks on Day #7 – the final day of your Great Kiwi Road Trip. You wake up early, ready to make the long trek back to Auckland. Along the way, Curious Kiwi stops at two beautiful places, Taupo and Rotorua, for you to get out and walk around.
Activity 1: While in Taupo, you go for a walk around the lake and you notice pieces of rubbish floating in the water. You also notice that there is rubbish on the footpath. As you know, it is really important to put rubbish in the bin and keep New Zealand clean and beautiful for generations to come. C:\Users\rwil313\Desktop\NZ Map - Schematic.png

With that in mind, it is time think about what you can do to keep New Zealand beautiful. Use your imagination and come up with three things that you could do to make your neighbourhood more beautiful. Post your list on your blog ☺
Here are some of my ideas…
  • Put some posters up
  • Pick up as much rubbish as I can once a week
Then  I would make an advertisement on SAVING OUR EARTH. After that I would make a website saying “Call this number *******, then come and help pick up as much rubbish as you can.” If that is a success then we will do more of that, maybe once a week in different cities or maybe even the whole entire WORLD. I will work my hardest to keep NZ or anywhere else as tidy as can be.

So that is my Idea :)
Activity 2: After you have finished up in Taupo, it is time to hop back in the car and head for Rotorua – a town where will have the chance for some much needed rest and relaxation. In fact, you will visit the Tarawera Bush Pool – a geothermal hot pool that is located in the middle of a forest. The warm water in the pool comes from underneath the ground. After a few hours in the pool you feel really relaxed.
On your blog, post a picture of yourself doing something relaxing. I find reading really relaxing. Here is a picture of me reading one of my favourite books!

After a long soak in the natural hot pools, it is time to get back home. Your family and friends can’t wait to see you and they can’t wait to hear all about your adventures. Take a moment to think about what you have seen and done over the past week.

As you can see, I am dead asleep. Yes you are correct. Over the past few holidays all I have been doing is sleeping. That is what I enjoy the most. It gives me the chance to dream and rest for the next busy day. Also you can sleep anytime you want. Whether you're at the movies, your family's house and even in the car. If I wasn’t sleeping I would be reading a book or watching TV. Again… sleeping is what I enjoy doing the most. :) ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฟ
Bonus Activity: On your blog, post a video or write a description about your week. What have you learned? What did you like about the trip? What didn’t you like? Was there anything that surprised you?
To earn full points for this activity, you must talk about what you learned, what you liked and what you about your great kiwi road trip.

Bonus Activity: 12 points

Well, New Zealand truly is a stunning country, isn’t it? I think that we are so lucky to call it home! Let’s make sure that we do everything we can to keep the country safe and clean for future generations…

During the journey I have learnt so many things about NZ that I have never known. I learnt about our native bird (Brown Kiwi or a Kiwi), predators, a cool movie that was very interesting and I learnt more about Matariki and the events that they do.

My favourite part of this journey is the travelling part. I learnt more about the cities here in NZ. Not only did I have fun I got to share this with family and friends and tell them what I have learnt. Taking part in this programme made me gain loads of knowledge and like I said before I have learnt so much. Thank You to Rachel (for setting the programme up) and those who have commented on my blog. Best wishes to you all. :)

  8. Kia ora Telesia!

Thank you so much for being such an active blogger over the past week. You and all of the awesome students at Glenbrae have been so busy posting blogs that our staff here at the university is struggling to keep up!

Please be assured that we are all reading your work and we will post comments on each post over the next 10 days. In the meantime, I just wanted to express my appreciation to you for your active involvement. You've taught us a lot about New Zealand throughout the seven days. We're so glad that you enjoyed learning about New Zealand and enjoyed travelling around the country. It really is quite a large place, isn't it? There are so many different towns and cities spread across the two islands. I hope that you will have the chance to hop in a car one day and explore it for yourself. It's the most amazing road trip!

Wishing you a very restful next week. I hope that you dream of New Zealand and all of the amazing new places and things that you have seen through the Winter Learning Journey!

See you at Glenbrae early in Term 3.

    Rachel :)
